Events

Every term, we run a series of events for the chemical and nanotechnology engineers on campus. These events are intended to allow students to network with other students and professors, provide further learning, and have FUN!

Past Events

UW Boiler Plant Tour

Students got an inside peek at how our campus is heated during the winter. The UW boiler plant chief took students around the entire plant and showed them their steam production process including packed bed water softeners, boilers, heat recovery equipment and flue gas handling system.

Frito-Lay Plant Tour

Students learned about the daily operations of Frito-Lay North America (FLNA). They received a tour of Frito-Lay's Cambridge plant and got to try some of their yummy samples.

Coffee Houses

Held at POETS, our coffee house events are an evening of FREE live music, food, and coffee. Scheduled performances are usually held for the first part of the night followed by a first-come-first serve OPEN MIC session.

Dooly's Night

An all ages event at the popular pool hall, Dooly's. Students enjoyed unlimited pool for the night for just $2!

Meet the Profs

This event is always a hit among students, profs and staff. In the past we have held meet the profs at grad house. Each student enjoyed one free drink plus a bunch of free food. During the spring 2010 term meet the profs was held as a free BBQ outside CPH and it was a huge success! Who can resist a free burger (beef OR veggie) and a chance to talk to your favourite profs!
